Messegelände Düsseldorf, DeutschlandUnited Robotics Group is taking part in the MEDICA HOSPITAL OF THE FUTURE in 2026 – MEDICA’s newly designed format, which presents care not as a row of devices but as a connected sequence of work. That is where robotics belongs: not as a demonstration piece, but as part of everyday hospital work.
What robotics changes in daily hospital work
Nursing and technical staff spend a considerable share of their working time walking and repeating the same handling steps: taking samples to the laboratory, fetching supplies, moving beds, cleaning floors, directing visitors. Work that has to be done – and that asks nothing of people trained to care for patients.
In Düsseldorf we show, across a range of applications, how this work can be handed to robotics without rebuilding operations: mobile robots for transport and sample logistics, automation in pre-analytics, assistance in reception and waiting areas, autonomous cleaning. Everything is controlled through uGo+, our orchestration platform, which connects the individual robots into one shared sequence and links them to existing infrastructure – from doors and lifts to laboratory instruments.
What works together is what relieves the load
In day-to-day operation, what counts is not what a single robot can do, but how well the robots work together. A transport that ends at the laboratory bench. A sample that arrives without anyone having to ask. A robot that knows when the lift is free. That does not come from each robot being good on its own, but from the shared control layer.
